Sage Wisdom – Roed (Canada)
by Colonel Peter Roed

JAC: How has your life changed post-retirement age from a few decades ago?

Life changed? From a spiritual priority position, the hour's personal devotional time... EVERY DAY... is a priority. Scheduling for that time with Jesus, and studying for messages, is ongoing!

JAC: What did 'missional' look like for you a generation ago?  How does it look now?

Missional? In my case, things have not changed, in fact, I am involved more today than 27 years ago.

JAC: What lessons you learned have stood the test of time?  How are they still relevant in your life?

Not sure what you are asking here. If you mean trusting the Holy Spirit to guide me, that is ongoing!

JAC: What habits and rhythms have you adapted to optimize this season of your life?

Again, habits and rhythms, could change with time, and one must be sensitive to these changes.  In my case, there have been MANY mid-course corrections.

JAC: What did you wish you knew back in the day that you know now?

The resources at our disposal today, are without question, unending! I am indebted to many great exponents of Scripture, and speakers, who have given me deeper insights into God's word. To mention a few of my favorites: John Stott, J.I. Packer, Darrel Johnson, Alistair Begg, Mark L. Strauss, C.S.Lewis, John Wesley, and so on.

JAC: What would you have done differently back in the day if you knew then what you know now?

It has always been my desire to have enrolled in a Theological College - i.e. Cambridge, London School of Theology. Today, the cost of attending these colleges is prohibitive, and for someone my age, out of the question.
